THE DRIVER
SHANE GRAY
Shane, for as long as anyone can remember, has had a passion for heavy machinery and love of motorsport.
At the age of 15 Shane began his working career at Quality Demolition and Contracting Ltd working for and alongside his father, Gavin Gray. Nineteen years later Shane has had the opportunity to run and operate his own business, Demon Contracting while still currently working with his father.
Along with working on nearly every heavy machine with wheels, Shane has also been involved in Motorsport varying from Stockcars to Off Roading 4 x 4. Shane purchased his first Stockcar and went on to win various titles. He also purchased a 4 x 4 off roader where he would spend free time out with his mates tackling various terrains and challenges at every corner.
He got his first taste for competing in Super Trucks in 2000 and never turned back. In 2010 he was co-driver for Steven Zammit of SRZ and took 3rd place in the Supertruck Co-Drivers Division . With ever-improving results Shane is super-focussed on winning the 2013 New Zealand Super Truck Championship.
Together with the rest of his Team Mates Shane is making a respectable name for himself in the Super Truck world.
Currently Shane leads a busy life with his wife Georgie in Lower Hutt where he lives and works. He enjoys having a laugh and is a well known and respected man in business and in life.
Shane’s pride and joy is his truck. He never cuts corners and ensures everyhing is done right. He loves ‘all things chrome’ and enjoys being at the meetings with his competitors, friends, family and team mates. It’s fair to say Shane was born to be a champion Super Truck driver!
